Takku

Update Takku

From Takku 1.17, one click: in Takku’s menu choose Takku … is available…, then Install Update. Takku updates itself and opens again.

From an older Takku, once more by hand: four steps, a couple of minutes. Your notes, settings and models stay as they are.

Step by step

  1. Download the latest Takku with the button above. The file, Takku.dmg, goes into your Downloads folder.
  2. Quit Takku: click its icon in the menu bar, at the top right of the screen, then Quit Takku. If a meeting is still being processed, wait for it to finish first.
  3. Open Takku.dmg from Downloads. In the window that appears, drag Takku onto the Applications folder. When your Mac asks, choose Replace.
  4. Open Takku again, from Applications or with Spotlight (⌘ Space, then type Takku). Its icon is back in the menu bar.

Then you can drag the Takku disk on your Desktop, or in Finder’s sidebar, to the Trash to eject it, and delete Takku.dmg from Downloads.

If something gets in the way

The Mac says Takku is in use
Takku is still open: quit it from its menu bar icon, then drag it again.
I can’t find the Takku icon
Takku lives in the menu bar, not in the Dock. If the menu bar is full, the icon may be hidden behind the notch: quit a few other menu bar apps, or open Takku from Applications to bring it back.
I installed it with Homebrew
Run brew upgrade --cask takku in Terminal instead.
